Exhaust Decision Time

Hi,

I thinking of buying an exhaust and from what I've read and searched on here RS*R seems like a good choice.

I don't want anything too loud, especially at cruising speeds and I'd like something that will improve performance.

I have the choice of:

RS*R
5Zigen Fireball
Kakimoto
HKS Legal

I don't currently have the $ for a manifold, do you think I would be better waiting on the exhaust and buying it later with a manifold?

For manifolds I have the choice of:

DC
Greddy
RS*R

What do you suggest. Cheers.

You can still get the RS*R systems over in Switzerland? Well, I'd get that exhaust, I love mine. As for the exhaust manifold, I would stay away from DC. It gives good gains, but the quality isn't up to that of the Greddy (I also assume the RS*R) I've never seen an RS*R header in person, nor do I know of the gains, but if it's the quality is of the same caliber of the exhaust, it will be VERY well made.

I thought Greddy didn't make an exhaust manifold for SI's?

i thought you were answering from your own experience with DC (since you have an SI)

If I had an h22 I would also go with the greddy.

Nope, I was just referring to my experience with their headers in general. And you are correct that they don't have one for the Si.

I have the 5Zigen Fireball and it was very quite at first, but I had the dual resonators taken out and put a 2 1/2" pipe put in place of it and now its louder but still has great quality sound, not too loud, and no rasp. at interstate speeds with the windows up, you cant even hear it.

Thanks for the feedback.
What's the feeling on power increases from the 5Zigen and the RS*R?

I can get the RS*R from Japan - not Switzerland (you can find almost nothing japanese made here )

I'm thinking of just getting the exhaust, and then saving for a while for the RS*R cat replacement pipe and a header.

Does anyone have any pictures of either of the 2 exhausts mentioned on their car? I saw a picture of the RS*R on this board but it was really close up and difficult to see how it it fitted in with the rest of the car.

Cheers
