exhaust compatibility

I was under the impression that the exhaust throughout the 4th gen preludes was the same.

I want the greddy PE, but i'm h23. there was a link a while ago with a video and sound from that exhaust and it sounded wicked. I want one of those or something similar in pitch

I was wondering this too. Does a VTEC exhaust/muffler differ from an Si exhaust?

A VTEC exhaust can be adapted to fit a Si, it is not, however, a bolt on affair. The only real difference is in the length, you will have to have your downpipe modified (shortened or lengthened, cant remember which) in order to mate up to a VTEC exhaust. Most muffler shops can do this for a minimal charge.

Interestingly enough, I did NOT have to do squat when I installed my JDM H22 into my 92 S model. The JDM H22a downpipe bolted up perfectly to the OEM S exhaust, while most Si owners have to get the downpipe modified when doing this swap. I dunno why this is, but it would SEEM (not positive though) that a VTEC exhaust would bolt into place on a F22 equipped car.

The downpipe goes to the cat and doesn't have relevence to bolting on the exhaust. The si and s models have the same stock exhaust. The vtec model differs only in the flange not in the legnth. Only one of the 3 holes will not line up but it can be easily modified to bolt on.

Brendon is absolutely correct. The cat is in the same spot for all 3 models, the exhaust piping is the same lenght. Only the bolt pattern of the exhaust flange/cat differs.

The 5th Gen is a different length however.

i plead guilty to the not searching charges, and throw myself upon the mercy of the court.
that doesn't sound too expensive, might look into it a little further.

Would a greddy PE fit on any aftermarket cat-back exhaust piping? Or do you have to keep them the same as in greddy muffler and cat-back?
