I am doing some research on exhaust. Which is the best to buy for my 93 vtec? I am looking to spend around 400. Any links or suggestions? Thanks

you will get mixed opinions about exhausts. some only go with brand name cat back exhausts, while others do no-name exhausts with custom piping...

for 400 you shoudl be able to find a Greddy. RSR is really good but a bit more

I like the RSR ExMag! Ive had mine for a month. Sounds and looks better than stock. No huge can and loud raspy sound... I love it!

I love my GReddy Evo exhaust! Its got a deep growl to it. I love when VTEC kicks in cuz its sounds mean! Look into the GReddy Evo 2. It looks great on a lude and it fit better than the stock exhaust! Highly recommended!

What kind of preferences do you have? That'll help narrow your search a lot more.

I was in the same boat as you a few months ago, looking for an exhaust for my 93 VTEC, and after asking around, doing some research and patiently waiting, I got an RSR exmag. It has a nice, quiet deep tone, which doesn't get annoying after a few minutes of driving. I highly recommend it.

I think the soundclips-as well as the groupbuy, are still available in the "Parts Classified" forum. If you do a search, you will find that the RSR is a popular choice for the lude.

SEARCH. When you ask a question like this, everyone just tells you what they have and that they like it. A topic covering how several cat-backs are different has been asked and answered... at least once.

this was the thread i started a few months back asking basically the same question... Your Favorite Exhaust

again the "search" function is a useful tool.

Many people will say the RSR is the best exhaust out there... its a good exhaust, it is quiet and looks OEM since the can is painted black and the only part that is polished is the tip. But the RSR Ex-mag is not cheap.. its like 550-600

Greddy has some decent exhaust systems... i have used greddy before and the noise didn't bother me, it is slightly lowder than the rsr, lil more bling bling since their exhausts are all polished. greddy is not cheap either... they start in the $500 price range and go up.

I'm currently using the Apexi N1... everyone seems to dislike this exhaust for some reason, maybe because its too loud? i personally do not think so. on some cars its extremly loud and annoying... but i didn't care since i'm going turbo which will muffle the exhaust note.

It all comes down to what you want out of your exhaust... u want loud? u want it to be flashy? does it matter if its a jdm brand? how do u want the tip and can to look?

^^ actually, a PO sponsor, Invision Auto is selling the Exmag for a good price. Their normal price (free shipping) is $517, so I'd imagine the price for PO members is somewhere around 500 or south of it (once again, with free shipping).

Here's the thread: http://www.preludeonline.com/showthread.php?t=171667
