Is it even worth it?

I have been debating for quite a while now as to whether I should dress up my car, rims, system, tint, lights, etc... or swap in a 95 jdm h22 type s first. I was down at the street races tonight and I saw a modded rsx (intake, pulleys, exhaust) lose by a car length to a stock 2002 mustang gt. If I drop in a h22 I'll have 200 hp in a 2900 pound car as opposed to a modded rsx (210-215hp maybe) that weighs 2750. I would still have to mod the hell out of my engine to beat a freakin GT! Are ludes for speed or for style? I just don't know anymore. I know anything can be fast If you are willing to spend the money but is it really worth it. Should I just do I/H/E tint, rims, system and drive it? Or should I drop in the h22 and mod the hell out of it? I'm looking to do one or the other. Which one should I do? Is it really worth it to spend all of that money on speed? I want to go fast but not for $10,000. I just don't know. Help!

remember this, ur car will always be a FWD, 4-banger.

if u drop an h22 in it, u can probably beat all those civics out there and who knows what else. Once u start taking on the V8 crowd, things can get a bit trickier

Depending on what you do to build up the engine, yeah, it'll be worth it. There are a few great manufacturers of cams for the H22, along with other masses of goodies not made for the H23, so you should be good to go.

The guy driving the RSX either had an automatic tranny or he couldn't drive for $h!+. Mustang GTs are only pulling high 6 second 0-60 and mid 15 second quarter miles(and that is with a pro driving them), incredibly pathetic considering their displacement advantage. I beat stock GTs all the time, and slaughter the older 5.0 mustangs with my H23 lude. I'd get the JDM H22 and take advantage of the aftermarket for them, considering you'd be pulling mid 6 second times 0-60 with the JDM engine stock, you would beat or at least hang with the GT stock, and by the time you add a few bolt ons you would beat him without question. As for the weight issue, get some fiberglass or carbon fiber body panels and find other little things you don't neccessarily need to take off (ie... remove spare and buy a can of fix a flat). The extra torque of a prelude over an integra helps on the holeshot too.

If you are really confident of your self hey , why not??? go for it! mod the hell out of the H22... But hey those ****s are usually a time to time thing.... Eventually you've wasted all your money on fixing that car and one day someone's out with a faster car.... You should just use the money fix some engine parts to increase better performence to your car... intakes, mufflers, exhuat... etc.... cosmetics but hey no turbo or any such.... And then use the extra money for a full body kit and a nice paint job.... Ay nice cars gets the chicks..... and think about it man we have a powerful engine.. but an incredible weight disadvantage.. We are preludes...... fast luxury sport cars... not the fastest of all and difinitey not the slowest of all....

And one more thing man, don't f*ck with big bad V-8's RWDs... Unless you gutted your little crx with a full blown B18c1 with modds to leave you broke... fuken those v-8's are raw muscle car power man... race with him on curvy lanes, you'll get'em

ok, Here's what you should do..Depending on how much money you have, buy the h22. you should build you bottom end(make it bullet proof). lower compression, drop in a drag turbo kit. get hondata, clutch, run about 14 psi daily and 20 psi at da track and smoke peepz . And don't listen to peepz sayin u cant hang wit rwd cars cuz. Ive seen peepz peeps wit a stock motor boostin 8 lbs hit mid 13's now just amagine at 20 psi

well if he wanted to go turbo it would be smarter to just stick with the h23.
