ES rear shock bushings: some help from people who've bought them

hey, I have, what I believe is a set of rear upper and lower shock bushings from ES which I wasn't able to install on my car (ES sent them too late). I guess I'll be selling them, but I have an odd number of bushings here, 9 to be precise. 4 look to be the upper bushings, they are shorter and ever so slightly wider at the base, while 4 more have thin wide bases and a thick tall center, somewhat resembling the shape of a top hat. The 9th piece, the ugly duckling, is the amalgamation of both, thicker at the bottom than the latter 4, and taller in the center than either set. I thought maybe it's a press piece to be used to remove the old bushings? I dunno, any help would be, as always, much appreciated

anyone? As I look at it Phamine, you have control arm bushings too, which didn't come with the shock mount bushing kit.

Can't see what the picture is. But I think your referring to the 4 smaller bushings is for the upper control arms and the lower shock bushing should be the bushing on the far right of the installed photo. I'm not sure as to what you mean by a "top hat". All the bushings are shaped similar.

ps - the picture i posted above are from the rear lower control arm.

here are some pics of the shock mount bushings.

Installed upper control arm bushings on the left.

I don't know if this helps.

can you not see the picture I posted?

Right, I'm positive I don't have the control arm bushings, all they sent me was the rear shock mount bushings, so it should be 2 for each shock (one that goes above and one below the upper mount/collar, then that leaves 2 more which I'm assuming go on the shock side of the lower control arm. What I don't know is what the hell that 9th piece is for.

hmmm - I can't see your pic since it shows as an 'X' and soemthing about it being forbidden.

This is from what I remember of the rear shock:

4 upper bushings that go around the collar of the upper shock mount (2 per mount)
4 lower bushings that go on the lower control arm as shown on the far right of the control arm (2 per arm)
2 bumpstops
2 circular pieces that sit on the upper shock mounts

If you can get the pic up I might be able to identify it.

hmm. quick fix, just right click the red x, go to properties, copy the url for the .jpg and enter it into your address bar. It's that lone bushing on the far right.

hehe, better yet, just click here

hmm - I do not have that bushing. I never saw that size bushing when I replaced all the bushings on my car. I think they sent you an extra one. I don't see where on the car that would go because the top part of the "Hat" is flat as compared to having the corner cut off like the entire kit is. If it has a part number on it maybe you can call ES and inquire.

Naa, no part number, but from the looks of it and your pics/descriptions (thanks, btw) I have the complete rear shock mount set. Thanks
