Ok guys I know everyone has seen this topic 100,000,000 times but this is slightly different.
I have a 4G 2.0i (F20a) Lude (UK) and I want to vtec it for as cheap as poss. I wandered over to www.jdmhondaparts.com and to my suprise they sell the F20b. You've guessed the next part. Is it possible to put the vtec head on to my F20? I know its an accord engine which prob means that I can get the parts a little cheaper than the H22.
Has anyone done this, or does anyone know if this is possible and what I'd need?
It's not worth it, the F20b makes 150HP, you're probably not far from there now. I'd just save for the H22A.. It's definately worth it, especially in our base model 'ludes!
I'm really umming about touching my lude anymore. If its only gonna b 150whp then your right it prob isn't worth it, but I'm not going to save $4000 for an H22 as good an engine as it is. I'd sooner use that cash to buy me a Supra!
The other view is save for an H22 and get myself a house
lol.. it's really 4 grand there? holy! I managed to pick up mine for 3.5k Canadian, or around 1600 pounds, then stuck it in myself. it works very well!
you're right tho, it might be worth it to save the 'cashish' for a Supra, I'm thinking I should have done an SR20DEt 240.. That'll be the next project! RWD rules.
speaking of swapping in an h22a, what kinda prices has anyone gotten on a full swap? what kind of labor costs can be expected? engine maybe $2100-$2500 i think? and labor up to about 1500??? does this sound right
Personally I would say do the work yourself, If you want a new H22 it'll cost you $4000 from jdmhondaparts.com, how ever there are plenty of knackered ludes with engones up for grabs, since postin this a guy in the UK has offered an H22 for £800 (about $1100). I'm rapidly trying to knock some cash together for that!
