Engine Question?

Hey Guys,

It's been a while since I've been on here, but I'm the one with the JDM F20A1 in my 92 lude si. (The JDM engine's out of a 93 Accord.)

All of the externals from the H and F engines have been compatible, but my crank seal just went kaput. She's not holding oil... at all. Does anyone know for sure what seal off of what engine would work? It'd suck to have to locate one over seas... a lot.

Any ideas or input would be awesome.

Thanks for the help!

F20A1 is not a JDM engine. The engine that came in the 1993 JDM Accords (F20A) has many different varieties. So I'll have to ask, can you tell us which engine you actually have? And can you tell us the specs on it?

Horsepower rating
Carbureted vs Fuel-Injected
SOHC vs DOHC

If you can't give me that, can you tell me the exact Accord model it came from?

FYI, the F20A series was used in approximately 30 models/trims in Japan and approximately 30 different models/trims in Europe.

Well, I'm telling you for sure. It's an JDM F20A. What car it came out of, I'm not exactly sure. But yes, I've had MANY Honda experts tell me so.

As for the gasket, got it ripped apart and found out that the crank shaft was moving side to side for whatever reason, and ripped the gasket. Swapping to an H22, throwing a turbo, and watching her go.

Thanks!

Well if you said F20A1, then that is def. a USDM engine, no jdm engine codes have a number at the end.

If it was a F20A then yes, it's a jdm engine.

I don't believe any USDM cars came with the F20A1. In fact, I can't find in all my research a single vehicle using it.

^well then,

I'll revise my statement as saying if it has a number in the back, most likely not a JDM engine

On the side of the engine, it says...

F20A

So, I admit to being wrong about the '1.' But yes, it is JDM, for sure.
