Engine Internals?

Hey guys, need some advice, as I have been told the JE 11.5:1 CR pistons are now forged pistons, and will not worked with my non sleeved H22A1 block.... I need to know what im shooting for then....

I wanted to go with some higher CR pistons, am I looking at Type S Pistons.... and if so WHO sells them, I haven't found any info about who carries them.

Also camshafts, what are some good cams for h22a, I looked into crower cams, but they are gonna be close to a grand for them, seems a little pricey, all tho they would add a good 15 hp.

Thanks

James at www.performance-evolution.com is from Alberta and can get you type-s pistons. Type-s/Euro-r is the highest you can go on a stock block

Yep. Type-S is the highest CR you can get without having to re-sleeve the block.

I wouldn't do it, but you can go with a thinner head gasket and mill the head to bump the 11:1 to 11.4:1 or so...which is pretty high.

WAIT: I stand corrected. I believe that JUN has a piston kit for the H22 that bumps compression up to 11.5:1. I've been told that no re-sleeving is needed to run these pistons (from Area 51 Fab). However, they are a cool 1600.00 from any shop you're lucky to find them in.

As for cams, do a search. I've seen cams from Crower, JUN, and the Type-S cams discussed here.

I know its not cheap, but I want to compare prices, I haven't heard any other prices on cams, other than the crowers.

skunk2 makes cams for the h22a.. stage 1 rated at 17+hp to the wheels.. stage2 25+ i believe.. but the stage 2 you have to upgrade your valvetrain. www.skunk2.com hope it helps

Type S pistons are OEM pistons so they are like any other OEM pistons you would buy at your local Honda dealer except for the 11:1 compression
