engine good now auto trans problem

i got the engine fixed.. sort of.. and i drove it around the block.. this is what happend...

drove and drove and then seemed liek the trans just stopped pulling.. i don't recall hearing a noise or anything but this is the aftermath

i turn off the car, put the shifter into park, start the car again and everythign seems fine.. i shift to "R" and nothing happend.. same deal goes with "N" all the way to "D1".. but when i try to put it into park.. there's a loud grinding noise and i just turn off the car.. but when i turn it back on with the trans in park.. no grinding noise

i started to go through the helms and couldn't come up with anything.... i tested those two solenoids and they both seem fine..i did the ohm test and the positive terminal click test

fluid levels seem fine and i did replace my shifter cable but i just double checked that and everything is adjusted properly

i don't know what else to check or do.. please don't give me.. change your trans to a 5spd.. cause i already have 2 5spd ludes.. this one i want to keep auto. i don't know how many miles are on the trans but when i got the car, it had 218k on the odom.. i drove it for 1k just fine before i blew the engine.. and the only problem that the trans had was hard shifting.. but then again.. i think all the early 90's hondas have hard shifting autos..

please please help

thank you

john

p.s.

is it really time for a used trans? i mean.. since it was working properly before.. shouldn't it work fine now?

even if i get the trans.. will it fit the f22b ? and then the next question would be if the lsd would be of any use.. i mean.. with all 160hp ..

do you guys really think it's just a bad trans? i mean.. if it is then i'll just get another one.. but what if it's something else... ?

maybe electrical ?.. i wonder if there's anyway to check if the trans is still good or not?

heheheh

what's considered a complete changeover...?

is that buying the engine and trans all in one..?

cause i mean.. the trans was working fine for the week that i was driving it before the engine spit a con-rod to the concrete...

that's why i decided to continue with this trans...

i do have a spare trans with an un-known number of miles and a unknown number of problems..hehehe

so does this mean all roads lead to buying a used trans with a known number of miles... ? that seems kindda wrong.. if it i must i must..heheh

=)

there's no way to check this trans?

i just got off the phone with honda and they told me to try and flush the trans a couple times to see if that clears up the problem

i asked how much it would be to diagnose the problem if it really is the trans and they told me that they basically do what i did and will charge me for it...

=)

horay

i have another issue...

so i drain the auto trans fluid and it looks gray.. i see a lot of metal shaving on the drain plug and so that seemed funny to me.. anywho.. i fill it back up with trans fluid, run the car, shift through all the gears and stop the car, drain and fill again.. this time.. i shift through the gears and now drive and reverse have a clicking grinding noise.. so i shift back and forth and then the d4 light starts to blink.. horay.. i got a code

i check out the code and it's my vehical speed sensor.. i check that out and it seems like it got a lil loose... i clean up the connection and plug it in and make sure it's tight.. welp.. now it's tight and so i reset the ecu and turn on the car again.. shift through the gears and still nothing..

the new thing is... my speedo runs with my tach.. like when i rev it up, the speedo revs up.. so ..?

there's my new question.. speedo reving with tach...? is this a good thing or a bad thing?

hmm, if the axel does not snap all the way in, you will get NO power in any gear. Basically the side with no axel will spin. That happened to me when i had to replace my flywheel.

Make sure they are snapped in. That would also caus your Speedo to show speed when your not moving. Maby thats what caused your vss error.
