Engine...

I'am looking to buy an engine to put in my 1994 Vtec and I was wonderin how good would a 2000 JDM Honda Accord SIR-T 200hp F20B 2.0L DOHC VTEC, Complete Engine Swap Automatic Transmission. Go in my prelude the people say it can go onto a Manual Transmission. Would this be a good engine or is the H22 better?

H22A, b/c its less expensive, and puts out more HP and TQ.

The F20B swap (with a tranny swap as well) will end up costing you far more than a JDM H22 swap. The two engines have very comparable HP ratings, but I'd guess the 2.2 makes a good bit more torque than the 2.0. The 2.0 might have a higher redline though, but probably not significantly so. The F20B is a lot harder to find, and will have a fraction of the aftermarket support that the H22 does. I have never seen a write up on installing a F20B, but I know there is some guys who have done it in Accords. Just get a JDM H22 and then buy a nifty blue valve cover for it.

the preludes are pretty heavy cars compared to most hondas, i wouldn't put anything less than a 2.2 liter in them, they need the torque to push their weight around.

i believe that the f series have hollow blocks wich dont hold up as well if your going to be abusing it. i think that the h22 will last alot longer and the availability of after market parts is greater for the h22. h22 all the way.
