Hi,

Just purchased a nice '95 lude (82k) miles from Ohio (where it had been inspected) for my son. Had to have a Maryland inspection (the toughest in the nation) done and the front sway bar lower link bushings were shot (I just replaced) and also noted are the emergency brakes are not fully releasing (both sides). The cables attached to the caliper appear to be operating properly (full motion up and down) when I engage/disengage brake handle - issue seems to be within the calipers (pads/rotors were recently replaced by dealer). Do the calipers have to be replaced (hope not) or is there a fix?

Appreciate any help, Tony

p.s. Engaged/disengaged brake handle just awhile ago and VERY hard to get the hub to turn unless I remount wheel for leverage.

The calipers could very well seized up. It's a common problem with age.

i no this thread is old but the same crap is happening to me also, its the ebrake cable that is locking i have to replace the ebrake cable, didn't do it yet because no money
