Electronically impared

I just bought a shift knob off procarparts.com and have no idea how to install it. And before you guys flame me it is not a standard shift knob. It is an indiglo mugen knob. There is a black wire that splits into two ends coming out of the knob itself. Then there is a set of two wires(both of which split into two at the end) which are attached to a tiny black box that says epicenter 1-001a-12v . What the hell do I do with all of these wires! I'm no electronics wiz but I figure you have to tap it into something in the car. Probably the cig lighter. But I have no freakin clue as to how to do this! Any help would be appreciated.

Black wires are usually ground/negative on a DC circuit and red is always the "Hot 12v" (in your case). Maybe the red wire is used for a switched 12v which means that you need to find a 12v source that is only on when you turn your key.

I don't believe the red wire from the cirgarette lighter works. I have stuff tapped off of it and you use the wire that goes directly into the back of the lighter and I am almost postive it was white.
