Electrical prob. What is this part?

For reference. I have been installing my fog lights and hooked the 5G switch up incorrectly and burnt something because now my dash lights do not work when I turn on the headlights. I replaced the dimmer relay and that didn't work. I checked all my fuses with a fuse tester and they are all fine. I'm really stuck and no dash lights at night sucks.

Well I tore my dash apart and found this. I was told it could be the problem

I checked all the wires for power with the dash lights turn both on and off. There is no power running into the black box.

I really need a wiring diagram of what runs through the dimmer relay and dash lights and fogs. That would help tremendously.

I pulled the dimmer relay and found out what the lead power was and when the dash lights were on there was power running through the relay so I don't think the dimmer relay is bad. Does the dash part by the clock come after the dimmer relay?

Does someone know where I can find a wiring diagram for the dimmer relay? I also need to know what the black box(pictured) does and where the power is coming from. What is that part so if I need to replace it I can tell Honda?

I just ordered a helms so hopefully this will be my last question.

OK. I figured out that my switch wasn't hooked up so now there is power running to the plug.

there is power running to 5 and 6.

But I don't know where it is supposed to go.

UPDATE number 4764675467

I hooked some wires into the black box and tested the other prongs. There is nothing running through it.

I am almost positive that is my problem. Can anyone tell me what that part is called? I know it is probably a relay but is there a certian name for it?

Clifford,

That is the dash brightness control unit. Remember I suggested that was the problem. Try replacing it with a junkyard part.

HTH,

HTH,

I have searched every junk yard in this state trying to find one. Ludes are hard to find.

I'm just going to Honda to get a replacement part. I get them cheap cause I know a guy that works there.

I remembered thats what you said it was. But will he know what I am talking about?
