Electrical Issue

I was drawing power for an aftermarket radio from the fuse box (the previous owner cut up the stock radio harness in ways unimaginable), and found a keyed slot in the box and used a female slot connector to connect it. A few days ago, the radio and air conditioning control lost power. I checked all fuses and found the power mirror fuse to be blown which fixed the AC controls. The radio still is not working. The keyed power wire is dead, and I checked all empty slots that power could be drawn from with a voltmeter and they are all dead. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help offered.
