EL question

Anyone know what electro luminiscent gauges are? What's the difference between them and USDM besides the color? What's so good about them?

Thanks

Re: EL question

EL gauges are lighted in a similar way to your water temp/fuel gauge. they are green and on 94 -96 ludes. when the car is off, they are black. they are brighter and the needle is also different. this has been discussed tons and there are 2 writeups for installing them

I tried to do a search on "EL" and "electro-luminiscent" but none of the threads said what they were. Thanks though, I bought a 94 VTEC.
