EL gauge swap question

i checked the writeups but the pics wouldn't load and i really couldnt tell.

do i just match the wires color to color basically? or is there anything "hard" about this? what is the best way to connect the wires? i dont want to solder them, maybe i could buy those 3M things to connect the wires together without cutting?

thanks in advance!

oh yeah, swapping the EL gauges into a 93

I guess you could try and use the crimp on connectors but the conversion is not going to look very clean unless you commit to cutting up your old harness and soldering each of the wires together.

Here is a link to my conversion thread...I have a picture close to the end as well as some information about what wires go where....

on harness J, i have wires in all spots, not just in 4,5
on harness H, i have a wire in spot 10, same wire as spot 8...not sure why.

those confuse me a little bit. i am going to use the "lazy" connectors (even though it will be messy) just to make sure it works and i have it right before I hack up my wires. I know it won't be neat, but if I can tuck it somewhere...why not?

thanks for the link?

i found some pics on preludepower and it looks like (for the most part) the wires match up color-to-color. I'll figure it out. any other suggestions?

what gauge is the wire? would a 18-22AWG wire tap stuff work?
