Those of you who have 94-96 SI's and up preludes....after turning on the headlights...if you click the dimmer all the way up,is the speedometer/tachometer display remain as brights as the temp/fuel display??

Yup...on long drives at night those gauges get a little annoying so I just turn 'em down.

Mine does not do that.....i recently did the swap too.....into my 94 S but my cluster dims and if i click it all the way up (with the headlights on), only the temp/fuel display lights up. that's with the old dimmer relay i had there from before.

I want it to light up at night if i want it to (like it's supposed to)..

but I've already ordered the dimmer relay from honda twice (for the EL type Gauges)and twice i've had to send it back, cuz eveything except the clock dies down when i flick on the headlights. The first time i thought the relay was defective, but the second one i got does the same thing...

So I'm trying to figure out what do i need to do to keep the speedometer/tach bright at night when my headlights are on....anyone know what could be wrong with my current set up?
Is there way i could modify the old (or new) relay to make it work properly??
My EL cluster comes from a 96 SI.
