Eibach springs on stock struts?

I may be able to get a new set of Eibach springs (Pro-kit I think) for free, with free installation. I've been searching through the forums and I haven't found a clear-cut answer regarding whether or not I'll need to replace the stock struts as well. Any opinions? Let's put it another way, I have no money, so it's just the springs, or nothing at all, should I do it? If it matters, I usually only drive a few miles a day, with a 700 mile roundtrip once a month.

Now suppose I could afford to replace struts in about a year (graduate, get a job, etc), go for it?

How would the ride/handling compare to stock? I've been reading that the Eibach springs are relatively soft and mostly for looks, does this mean there won't be any difference with comfort and handling, for better or worse?

Thanks for any help.

I rode on Eibach sportlines and stock shocks for over 2 years with no problems. Ride was very comparable to stock, just lower. If you don't have the money to get aftermarket shocks now, don't worry. The worst that will happen is you blow your stock shocks and are forced to change them. Once you can afford to get different shocks, go for it. I changed to Tein coilovers and it was like driving a new car. I love it

I did the same. Eibach Sportlines for two years on stock shocks...they didn't get bouncy till then. Since I replaced them with stock prelude shocks from a 2001...works fine to me.

While you can't beat an aftermarket shock made to handle the spring rates, I'm content with the stocks, I just have to replace them, more often...but with enough yahoos that lower their car with only 10,000miles on the car I can get stock shocks for pretty cheap

My next set of shocks will be aftermarket coilovers or something.

Bingo...quite a few people yes Eibach Sportlines for a more aggressive drop on the 5th gen, since it's only officially sold for the 4th gen

Eibach Sportlines are only sold for the 4th gen. But since the suspensions are interchangeable, 5th gen people buy them.
