what does the EGR valve used for on our 4th gen vtec. All i know is that it was the reason i didnt pass smog so the tech had to clean the EGR valve or some **** to get the lude to pass smog.
EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation. You engine put some exhaust has back though the car and this help the car get better gas milege and lower emisions. I don't know how the exhaust gas help do this but it does.
Yeah, I don't know too much about it either, but I remember seeing a dyno of someone with a turbo who got close to 40whp just by removing it. It's highly illegal though... and there's something else that makes it a undesireable mod but I can't remember.
