I did some searching, I couldnt find much threads on it. I found an aftermarket one on ebay, for about 20 bucks.
Just curious if anyone knows about these and what kind of gains can be achieved. I heard that i might clean up your carbon deposits on your exhaust tip? idk.... What do you guys think?

lol don't buy anything off ebay for a block plate... make one yourself. Just take off the egr and stick like a piece of cardboard or metal plate there... no i'm not kididng. ask the other guys
theres a link from the faq section... its a writeup for a block plate for the fitv. It's basically the same exact concept but for the egr as well lol... scroll down and read ppls make shift cardboard gaskets

i might sell my EGR block plate, not till after my euro-R is allready installed though.
its a 1/2 inch thick peice of alluminum.
came w/ my euro-R intake manifold..previous guy had an accord w/ a built NA engine.
SNslude is right though..all u gotta do is go to home depot..buy the 1 foot x 1 foot peice of thin alluminum, and then slip it through the EGR and cut around it.
Does blocking off the EGR affect gas mileage at all?
No so much so that you would notice i'd assume. Basically all the EGR is for is for emission control (to reduce NOx iirc). It just recirculates your exhaust through your egr vlave and IM and back into the combustion chambers. So basically people block this off to basically cut this extra pathway off.

Nah, I don't think OBD1 cars throw codes on blocked off EGR's, I think OBD2 monitors flow or readings or somethin
Yes they do throw a code unless you are lucky. I have removed mine completely and "faked" the computer into thinking it is working properly with some parts from radio shack
Oh, im part of the cardboard blockoff club too. hmm, i think mine was made from some Pot pies or something.

your actually only partially correct, and this is why i dont understand why people do this. The way the EGR reduces NOX is by allowing noncombustable gasses to enter the intake,, why would you want to do this? You produce NOX when combustion chamber temps get to high, so the inert gas is rentered into system to cut back on combustion temporarily to reduce these temps, and the funny part is the only time this occurs is when cruising down the highway at steady speeds...
thanks for the input guys, but doesnt anyone know what the benifits are from both of the block off plate mods are?
