NOT PASSING ontario e- test f22b !!ECU / Knock sensor

Im having the same problem. My emissions doesnt expire until the end of Sept so I still have time. Good luck finding a p39. I've looked high and low and no luck. If you know where to find it please let me know.

Found a P39 at a junk yard near Citi Field. $100 bucks. Car runs better than with the p14. Still have a CEL but now its the EGR valve. Gonna try to clean that first and see what happens.

There are more than just one JDM ecu that will help you pass. I borrowed at PT3 (Don't quote me) from a buddy and passed etest. Either way you have to install a knock, or get an ecu without it. The car runs fine for the most part without the knock sensor, but once your engine warms up you lose hp because your P14 is looking for a signal, so it can set the timing back.

There are a few holes above the oil filter that you can utilize for the knock sensor if your going that route.

To the OP:

I know what your going through, did all the common prelude fixes for etest, just to discover there was only one problem all along, lol.

Your in TO, just go to Toronto JDM, the little Pakistani guy there will fix you right up, he knows his ****. They have P39's for 200 canadian, or he can set you up with something that will work, for half that price.

thanks for all the advice !!!

i already found the ecu p39 for $60 i installed it 2 weeks ago the car seems to be running better. just took it out today no trouble codes for knock sensor anymore ! i thought i would drive the car down to niagra tonight and back to clear out the system and then take it for the e-test tomorrow !!! now if this doesnt work there is nothing left to do i have done everything im lucky i can do all this work myself or i would have had to sell the whip !!!!
p.s. ECU supplied by, japan auto supply
wish me luck !

timing ?

so i pulled apart the timing belt cover and found that the belt is really loose its going crazy when i switch the car on but it doesnt seem to be missing the teeth on the belt or skiping the gear sprokets !!! can anyone tell me if this is the reason why my car is failing emissions test ?

thanks

I'm in the same boat. I have an F22B and I just installed an H23 ECU and I'm taking it in for etest this weekend. The CEL doesnt come on unless I REALLLY punch it.

Has anyone done a Knock Sensor Workaround?? some way of by passing it.... maybe with a resistor in the ECU??
