1. Go to local parts store and just buy the blank rotors there.

2. You can buy the axxis or the brand from your local auto store.

Seriously.

Since we are on the subject here, I was looking at getting some brakes tomarrow (today you can say since it's 2:30 in the mourning here) and install them ASAP. I dont need slotted and drilled rotors or anything special, just plain good quality rotors and pads. Would you guys recommend Brembo stock rotors and pads from www.importrp.com? Either that or Duralast from Autozone and their pads but I'd like to stick to a good quality non slotted and drilled rotor and good pads. I dont want squeals or warped rotors after only a few thousand miles and plain daily driving. This is my first Honda/import car and first set of brakes on my 93 Prelude that I am putting on.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Well, they just said blank rotors are the way to go, and for pads there are a few questions in my previous experience.

Stopping power versus how much they dust being one of the best ones.. some of the best pads I have used cause SO MUCH dust, but the stopping power was unbelievable! I think the ones that dusted alot but had great stopping power also last alot less long, so that is something else to consider.

My opinion on rotors, drilled and slotted help to diffuse/ventilate the gas that gets built up, and are also supposed to help dissipate heat, but from what I heard the warping comes from them being cooled down too quickly, not because they got hot. And the amount of surface area is reduced by a degree larger than the gains by giving the gasses somewhere to go.

I think this is a matter of preference, and I have yet to look into getting new pads for my Lude, so I am interested in what other people have to say about pads. I want as much stopping power as I can get since these cars have abs anyways, I can always clean off the dust.

Thanks for the information. I am not interested in drilled and slotted rotors on this car, it's a daily driver and they are really not needed. As for ABS, it seems to work fine on the Preludes but in the past I've had bad luck with ABS especially on GM trucks and vehicles, they are horrible and do not stop well at all. As for the rotors I am just wondering if I should get AutoZone rotors (Duralast) or get Brembo OEM type (plain ones) from importrp.com? They are only about $37 on their site.

They do not dissipate heat any better. The opinion you have would seem logical back in the 1960s when there was need of escaping gases from pads on "race cars". Nowadays, pad technology has improved to render these useless. If you think the holes cool down too fast, you would be wrong because a puddle of water does more harm.

Blanks will be your best bet. You can get the brembos (I had them on my old prelude) or autozone ones (there is a guy who races his prelude competitively and used duralast rotors. Worked fine for him. One thing to remember is that track pads are for the track and street pads are for the street. Don't think track pads will help you stop better on the street.

4th gen's ABS system is 2-channel. Which basically means it kind of sucks compared to other ABS systems. It's better than nothing if you brake in wet conditions I guess.

i've never used them, but 5 of my friends/co workers have and they all have had horrible experiences. I hear lots of horror stories about them on different forums.

wow, i got all my parts cheap, it was here within a week. lots of places i buy from say 3days, and it turns out to be 3months, then something is wrong with the item. ive had lots of friends buy things such as rims, turbos, and n20 from them and never had a problem. i guess they may have off days and good days, just depends.
