A buddy of mine knows how to do it, said it would only take him a few hours. He has one in his car that is fully functional. Some people get them to work, but not fully how it is supposed to (i.e. - when set to a certain temp to keep the cabin at it cycles from head, head/feet, feet).

That yellow wire loom is for the some part of the SRS. Rule of thumb: Any stock yellow connector is for SRS.

Yikes, and you can see what it would take to simply replace that plastic strip along the base of the winshield if you have a little crack. It looks like the whole thing has to come out, or can you just take the top off?

i bought that same kit from the guy on EBAY and it is the full kit to do the conversion except for the transistor. you can get this part from a 97 acura CL. yes, it is a pain in the ass to get EVERYthing functional, but if you want just the basic functions, all you need is the climate control unit it self and get the rest of the parts at a junk yard from the acura CL. the one on ebay has all the sensors and everything.

So where would the airflow motor for stock be in all this ... (a bit off topic)

I dont know if its in my control panel or the motor .. but i do have a question ..

somebody stated that all of the parts can be recovered from an acrua CL ... like .. all I would need is the control unit from JDM spec and get the rest from the 'yard ? ... sensors, motors, transistors etc ? .... ?

i think the mechanisms that control the warm / cold air mixture are different on the CL and Prelude, besides that all the other sensors work and you just need to wire in the power transistor into your blower.

the blower is located under the dash on the passenger side

the air mix motor has to come from the jdm prelude and it is backwards from the usdm prelude so you have to modify the mount for it. check the faq on it. go pre did a good job doing it. i recently did it and it came out great. still waiting on my transistor to get the whole thing working finally

but where is the actual air mix motor located stock on the USDM lude? .. pass side by the blower or ? ..

I've read the faqS a few times... its crazy .. but my airmix doesn't work right so I might as well have some serious fun fixing it .. can't reallytell where it is from the manuals on icelord ... with this conversion do I need to modify anything for heat in the engine bay ?

the reason you can't find the air mix motor on usdm ludes is because they don't have one! i thought i explained this in the writeup. usdm uses a cable setup which you push or pull to manually operate the vent openings out of the heater box, and the valve on the coolant line determining how much hot coolant is running through your heater core. the usdm heater box accomplishes these 2 functions with the use of 2 separate cables. when you move the temp slider bar, it pulls a cable which opens or closes the vents down at the heater box, and there are a set of levers as well that at the same time move the second cable going into the firewall, to adjust the amount of hot coolant entering the heater core.

on the jdm lude, the air mix control motor replaces the function of the cable that opens and closes the vents on the heater box. then there is a vaccum valve of some sort (hope I remember this right) inside the engine bay that varies the amount of hot coolant entering the heater core. i didn't have the jdm vaccum valve piece, so i just rigged the levers so i could use my cable through the firewall for the coolant valve.

if your temp slider bar is not working, there's a good chance it could be a loose cable, so you might want to check both of them. look in the engine bay right next to the firewall, in the middle of the car. that's where the heater hoses come through. you'll see the cable which comes out and attaches to a sliding valve on the heater hose. have someone move the temp control inside and watch to see if that valve is opening and closing properly. if it's not then you're not getting hot coolant inside the cabin and might explain the lack of heat.
