How do I go about fixing this?

1. Do you have any other idea of what's wrong besides the fact that it won't stay up?

2. Do you have tools?

3. Do you have a Helms manual?

If you're pulling the lever up and it's not staying the ratchet gear is shot. I don't think you can buy replacement parts for it you you might have to buy a new lever.

Okay I'm gonna go out on a limb here because I've seen my gf do this in her civic.

are you... releasing the button on the e-brake after you've lifted it...?

Someone looked at it an said its a linkage that needs to be tightened up.

Even if the linkage is loose the lever should stay up.

Pull apart the center console and see if anything looks amiss...

Might end up having to replace the lever
