dyno tuned my new motor

I'm bummed, I dyno tuned my lude today, with the vafc, and the tuner doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

For one he can't smooth out the vtec crossover, so when I want to just cruise the car leaps forward and jerks when it goes into vtec.

Two my engine light came on as soon as he was done and it was the map sensor.

So now they are trying to tell me that my car has other problems when everything has already been checked out by another place. so I told them either to fix my car or put my settings back to zero and give me my money back. so they said they would look at it and I know they are gonna try to bull**** me. any suggestions?

anyway I put down 182 hp and 156 torque SAE.

jdm h22,cai,header,p28 ecu, vafc., no ps,no balancer belt. stock exhaust.

it's set at 4600, it's not the fact that it's so low, I know it can be smoothed out. I was set that low on my h23/vtec and the other guy smoothed it out so good that I didn't even feel it when I was just cruising he really knew what he was doing. I don't think this guy is as experienced with the vafc's. But I test drove it pretty good today and the check engine light stayed off so maybe it was a freak thing. I can live with the ruff crossover, just not the check engine light.

That sucks matt. Just get your H23vtec back. Mine is still going along very nicely. I have my vtec crossover at 4400 and it is not the smoothest but it isn't the roughest either. I think it is because of the cams, but I just street tuned mine first then brought it to the dyno and they really didn't have to do that much.

Did you install your VAFC?

Doesnt the VAFC tap into the map sensor wire at the ECU? Maybe that tap isnt on there tight causing your CEL.

the famous dynamic autosports, and yes the vafc does tap into the map sensor, and it was professionally installed but I am going to try to check that sensor wire, again, but I'll tell you what when the cel does come on the car instantly starts running horrable and I start getting like 8 miles to the gallon. but I can pull over and restart the car and it will be fine again until the next time the cel comes on. wierd.

You know something matt, I am now throwing code 3 Map sensor CEL, but the sensor is good, I checked it against another lude. The only difference is I swapped TB's cause my TPS broke on the old TB, and now I am using a TB off a 99 lude. Now I can't get into vtec. Some wierd sh*t.

why restart? why not just press in the clutch, turn off the car and gently let the clutch back up?

Well the thing is not knowing if there could be problems with the car starting, and in rush hour traffic I'd be um screwed. ha ha I would just rather be safe than sorry. They are gonna look at it today and see what they say.

well got an update for you guys took it back and steve the tuner hooked me up, fixed everything, and it runs awesome now. He went above and beyond helping me, now that's customer service, I'm glad a shop can stand up to its rep.

Those are the new numbers above. Not bad for what I have, but I have a hook up coming up with skunk 2 and hopefully I am going to be getting a full exhaust system with some cams and cam gears so we'll see what that does. But then again i might give them my h23/vtec and have them fix that with some extra goodies.
