dyno results

to make a long story short, he hooked the p-13 up to his tuning system and devolped me a program.
when i rolled it it turned 161hp and i dont even remember the torque rating, untuned.
he tuned and tuned and tuned the **** out of it but could not surpass 175hp
no matter which way he tuned the cam gears it would make a small amount more on the top end but rob to much from the bottom, these cams are not meant to be tuned that much it apears.
it made 175hp at 7200 rpm's and 148 ft lbs torque at 5700
AT 84 DEGREES F* AND 4400 FT ELEVATION
its hard to make power up here but he knew and i knew something was not right.
he hooked up a vacume gauge and said it seems to low, verifying that there is still, either a vacume or a air leak still somewhare.
then explaned the whole dc header bash, as well as my already oversized, yet oem replacement style cat could be robbing up to 15hp, and the even oversized pipes that are still crush bent could be taking even more power.
the even bigger problem though is when he saved the tune from his pc (which was runing life support on my car) onto his chip and went to put it in the p-28 i got from a buddie the car acted up and threw the ECU error code
hes got the ecu and is going to check it out but it looks like i need another p-28 or the p-70 or 72 something like that....so im still driving around untuned
for now......
on the flip side the car ran 100 times better when we ran it down the street on his pc and you can, yes feel the car PULL into v-tech again.
im not disapointed because the elevation and the heat are the hardest factors we face where i live, but i am upset and disapointed none the less
food for thought he showed me a few run files he did the same day one on a k-20 with just an intake, it made 185hp out here (tuned)
and a bone stock sti (pull only) made 229 and not around the 250 they can do with a better enviorment.
i need to check the compression and the valve cleareance soon to.......

what else is left.....actual pressure reaching the v-tehk "thats 5" lobes and there ability to depress skunk 2 springs down completly "remember oil pressure is all that presses them down"
the oil in my system is 10-30 minerial for the breakin as my shop guy said but still "i hate to say it" i ran the car luke warm when oil pressure is still higher" and it behaves the same....

however all this **** aside i got a guy that is going to program the p-28 chipped ecu i have in my hands on a dyno for $450 that includes cam gear tuning so....well se what happens........hopefully get it done by the weekend i need to present the ecu to him to make shure its all legit this evening
theres so much power being held back by the uber pathetic stock maps this car is going to explode out mad horse power(s)

braging rights can begin im hoping to se at LEAST 220 on the pavement
35hp off from your goal!

skunk 2 pro stage 1 cams and adjustable cam gears
skunk 2 valve springs, retainers, hi comp flat top valves
3 angle valve job, also some work done to the valve collers (exhaust side)
valve guides by jun
head and block re-surfaced, vated and leaked down
FULL ralco rz underdrive pulley kit @ about 30% underdriven
fidanza 8lb flywhele on a act stage 2 clutch (6puck) and a crazy ass presure plate
overall the reduced rotating weight (not static weight ROTATING weight) may be the strongest single mod,
the balancer shafts, drive componets belt, and tensioner is a hefty amount of weight maybe 15lbs or more, eliminated and it increases oil psi
compare the stock what is it 22lb flywhele to the 8 lb fidanza
the stock crank pulley weights again maybe 15lbs my underdrive crank pulley weights in at 2 n a half lbs also PS ALT pulleys
dc 4-2-1 header (heat wraped to the cat) to a full custom 2.25 exhaust on a cat that calls for being on a supra, flowtech raptor muffler (i dont do can's)
full leingth cai, aem fuel rail and adjustable fuel pressure regulator
h22->h23 manual tensioner converion
new water pump, oil pump, and of course full yonaka gasket set top to bottom but....a permacool intake manafold gasket
water plumbing to throttle body bypassed
zeroed out map sensor
aem full wideband (ran independent, or basicly has its own tap into the exhaust)
jcwhitney oil filter heatsink
will all soon be runing on pure amsoil after its fully broke in
timing currently advanced 2 degrees (to elevation)
zero play distributor mod
160 thermostat whole system soon be ran on hyperlube and distilled water

and thats about all i can think of if i had the car in front of me i could spit out more but ya thats the meat and potatos of course not all mentioned mods add hp but they all help.....
the pistions, cams and unbeliveable amount of reduced weight will be the hardest hitters
theres other to like the body kit energy suspension lowering kit jdm 1 piece headlights shaved everything

and soon a full chiped p-28 dyno tuned and i dont even know what program hes going to use but he says its above hondata, crome, etc etc

also TEE-DOT did u see the you-tube-streetfire viedo of the migs ricer with the custom cow paint job and jack daniels 100 proof injection with the
"""(((v-tak (((Variable Transistor Acumulator Kanetizier))))) written with a crayon on dudes valve cover.......funny ****
I don't know how he expected a 50hp gain over what he had stock with those mods, assuming his motor was putting out a really healthy 170 to the wheels to start with and his goal was 220 to the wheels

i will get there even if i have to bottle feed this pos motor
and the mods list its also fully balanced and theres a walboro 225, all that was missing
now its ecutuned but i need another p-28 to house it

i dont know though dude was saying ditching the dc header the oem style cat and a tru mandrel bent exhaust will bring me easily into the high 180's
hes a tuner so ill take his word for it but remember were a mile in the f-ing sky out here and it was like 80 degress in the dyno bay

corrected below*

wow that was horrible spelling

basically i think my tuner is lying to me about what my motor stock makes and i think he has done it to other people to......
to make them feel better when he takes there money
he brought more power forth, but i think hes use to seeing people get there hopes and dreams smashed before his eyes
200 is all i ask 200 without a bottle.....we will see how far i get...

50whp over stock without a bottom end build is completely realistic......I know, I did it. And still counting.....

compresion test showed

w/o fuel
190 200 200 200

w/ fuel
190 190 190 190

in that order left to right

there does not apear to be a vacume leak using the old hook up the gauge and pour water all on top underneath everywhere, on the manafold and look for it to spike.....there are NO vacume line leaks

^lol how old are you? What kind of limits are those? I guess it's good you have those limits since it looks like you could really do some damage for nothing.

I remember when I was 18 and had 2 CC's. I think my total limits were in the 5 figures.

im 23 man
and i could probably get higher limits but i meessed up when i was a kid and agreed to use my name to open a new t-mobile account for my g-f at the time and well it didnt end up to good, left a nasty unpaid 3 month bill on my record for a while
other than that my credit is good my morgage payments always on time, responsible where you need to be, but man all i can think about anymore is buying parts, not you know fixing the dish washer or sink, but parts....

^Ha, well I would sit back and think to myself "are my priorities straight?"

I know this is OT but buying car parts is fine if you can afford it. After awhile it's just not worth it.

Just something to think about man. I never got into trouble because I was smart with my spending but I can see how it can easily get out of hand. You can spend all that money if it's for the right reasons.
