were you still making power when you stopped revving on teh dyno plot? if so....keep revving higher until the power drops off...

actually it was on its way down. ok i understand what your saying but i have a question for you. my friend has a stock 99sh and ive seen dyno plots on those cars and around 72 the power starts to drop too but eveyone on the 5th gen forums says to go to 8 and my friend has tried it many times and he gets bests results when he shifts at 8. so how can that be?

Are those corrected numbers? They seem a tad bit low.

Thats because 8k on a 5th gen tach is more like 7500 on the engine.

na those are it but the paper i have shows the green line wich is 158.7hp and 140.8tq but also the paper has a blue line wich is a little higher but it doesnt say the power on that line. if they look low then what should it be more like, just to remind you it was a 100 degree day when i got it dynoed. and i have the flapper valve open at all times what you guys think about that?plus what is the highest i can rev on stock vavle train even if i didnt gain any power?

Try closing the flapper valves. I'm sure you'll gain more peak torque...besides, the valves will be open by the time your cams make most of its power anyway.

I don't know if you'll be able to rev 500rpm past redline, I know I usually get the revlimiter at like 6800rpm, then again, things are happening so fast, i maybe couldn't see it.

Maybe you need some cam gears and do some tuning. I've seen one Si where he's putting down 150's in hp and 150's in torque with just i/h/e, but that was with 75 degree temp.

BTW, what elevation were you at?

I'd guess that the numbers are uncorrected, thus seeming lower because of the high temperatures.

Finished my swap frfom H23 to H22. Completely stock with a fuel problem (CEL 1, replaced the sensor and still comes up so its fuel) and dynoed in 98 degree weather at 159.4hp. I don't know if this is good or bad.

I guess that is a little comforting. Its a JDM motor and don't they claim a little over 200 at the crank? So I lose 40 horse through the drive train ouch. My H23 with 120,XXX pushed 143 consistantly.

Thats why I wasn't to impressed and they are both completely stock. My H22A pulls though the higher I rev it. At about 5900 or 6000 the H23 didn't seem to produce and power.

As I said, I have a fuel problem. It seems to hesitate through out the band. May dyno again. Anxious to see what mods do.

yeah...youre stock tach isnt always so accurate...and they prolly say to shift at 8k to not only correct for that..but to keep it in VTEC when you shift...
