Do a search and check out the car audio forum.

Although this thread should be locked or moved....

I will be nice and say check out LOWES/Home Depot (DIY home stores) for some stuff called Peel n' Seal... Its basically dynamat, but its in the roofing section... Its a sealent.. Its got the same aluminum overlay with the gooey tar like material.. I have both dynamat and Peel n' Seal in my car and did some testing to see if they were comparable as visually they are identical.. Honestly, biased opinion says peel n seal works better.. 15 bucks does what 200 of dynamat does.. Its cheap, easy and well worht it.. It comes in like 6" x 25 rolls and 1' by 50 ft rolls for a fraction of dynamat costs... Good Luck...

jtcdudeman: awesome tip! I deifnately will do peel n seal when I soundproof my car in spring.

Is it about the same to work with? Any other quality factors for the install stage vs. dynamat?

Peel n Seal is pretty much the same to work with.. I couldnt even tell the difference in material at all.. I mean tar density may be a bit more on the dynamat making it better, but I doubt it.. But, for the price you could do 5 layers for that price.. To work with it you simply cut and stick it.. I used a hair dryer to warm it up to get it all sticky and flexible.. It was also winter ya know.. Of course, winters in Georgia require a coat when its good and cold.... I would advise getting some type of heat gun, ie hair dryer to make the stuff eaier to use and stick better.. Also, if the car is really dirty or dusty I advise a good wash.. Otherwise, use a wash cloth over the area and a towel to dry it.. Dust is not your friend.. Needless to say, I didnt follow my advice and didnt even have problems, but logic says clean is better....
