Dual stage intake manifold ques

Just had a swap done, I have an AEM Cold Air intake. Should the vaccum hose to the butterfly valve on the dual stage intake manifold be hooked up or plugged? When both intake runners are open what position should that metal switch be in? Down position? If you disconnect the hose with the engine running the spring pops up, when you reconnect it and rev the engine it goes down. Am I now running around with 4 intake runners closed full time?

Too many questions for me lol, all I can tell you is I capped off one hose that ran around the battery down through the hole in the bay, the rest all plugged in.

hmmm.

I'm almost positive I capped it off on the old motor. The confusion came from the new motor being pretty much complete so the solenoid was hooked up from the get go. It's capped now and runs fine...although the car feels a little dead at low rpms....just the tradeoff of the mod I guess. I shouldn't say that now though, I still have ilde/timing issues.

i heard the mod really doesnt do much, at the track i didnt notice a bit of difference to be honest. it felt dead at low RPMS like you said, uses up more gas in lower RPM

There was a connection or two that I think I should've capped off when I installed my CAI but I never did. The car drives fine so I don't think it's an issue.
