Dual ECU success!

I have completed hooking up the p13 and p14 on my automatic h23 hybrid. I now have vtec and the trans is shifting great! the only other issue i now need to overcome is the p14 shifting the auto at the old 6400 rpm limit. To do this i will begin to remove sensor input to the p14. I have removed the p14's control of injectors and rpm. i will now continue with the CKP and CK angle sensors. I don't want the p14 know too much about how the engine is running... I only want it to know enough to drive the auto trans. well ill keep you guys posted. Also If i can't get around the rev limit i guess ill chip the sucker and turn vtec on sooner and keep the revs at 6400. Man Vtec feel good!

Ahhh! The 7200 redline....

My brother was driving the car and he tried something i had not thought of...shifting the trans manualy from 1-2-d3-d4... Doing this he was able to keep the gear till 7k and thus enjoy the true powerband allowed by the p13. When we leave the car in d4 it drives like the old h23 shifting at 6.4k but we can bypass that by holding the gears ourselves... Bueno al rato voy a intentar cortarle mas alambres al p14 en vispera de conseguir que el D4 guarde los cambios hasta 7K. Bueno hasta luego!

Umm i dont kno wif this was ever suggested to you, but they do make an automatic p13 ecu. They arent that hard to come buy, and they are fairly cheap.

Auto P13... I got one!

I did buy and auto P13 from a JDM dealer. The reason i had to use the p14 was because my 96 OBD2 prelude had abs and a built in TCS....So when i got my obd2->1 wiring harness I noticed that it did not have the wires hooked up for the Extra pigtail "B" on the PCB of the ecu. It turns out my p14's B plug controls the abs, torque converter lockup and A/B/C shifting solenoids of the trans. So when i hooked up my auto P13 I did not get 1-3 on D4 just 4th and the samething on D3, just 3rd.... So i had to hook up the old P14 to control the auto trans properly. Last night my brother took the car to the street races and he came home very happy He told me he had beat the madre out of several S/C cavaliers, sunfires and taken out a spider eclipse... this is great news a we felt the new motor sucked due to no bottom end power. The old h23 would haul from the begining but stop puilling at about 5.5k...Now we develop power from about 4.5k to 7k and although the takeoff is slow it makes up for it at the top end The only thing i'm waiting for now is import night at the quarter so we can see how fast it is. Also i'm not too happy with vtec kicking in at 5.5k so i'm going to see how much better the hybrid reacts to it at 5k and 4.7 or 4.5k. The cams are ok but i want more from this 2.3 so i might try to see if I can get some cams from a genuine 2.3vtec as i believe these have the primary lobes of the Si and these would definitly improve the bottom end respose. Also the 70mm tb does hurt the bottom end because we lose air velocity in the 500-3500 rpm but from about 3.5k on up it does make one heck of a difference... If however i had bigger lobes (say Si) i don't think we would hurt so much... but Im not sure as i have only Chevy 350 cam experience... Well i think the next motor i'm going to build will be a turbo 2.3 as the lack of torque is rather sad... So far my younger brother and i have spend about 3.7k and I am not totaly satisfied... These little hondas sure are hard to make fast NA style...

yeah but thats some sort of triptonic transmission and i highly doubt its 225hp.. specially with that low of a redline.

I think somebody somewhere has that engine and it pairs up with an h22 nicely but theres no way its any 225 hp .. nor 6.4k redline .. but .. im talkin outta my as .. they're so much more money and I dont know why (odb2 also)
