DSP pinout

If you take apart the DSP you find 3 connectors. Take a voltmeter to match the 2 outside round connector pins with the wires inside:

4 Pole connector:
RED - RR out
BLK - RR GND
BLK - RL GND
GRY - RL out

8 Pole connector:
RED - R in
BLK - R/L GND
WHT - L in
RED - FR out
BLK - FR/FL GND
WHT - FL out
ORA - SW, Switch on (+12V if ON)
PUR - IL, Illumination (+12V)

10 Pole connector:
GRN - DSPB, (do not connect)
YEL - PREQ, (do not connect)
BRN - MUTE, Mute amplifier (Mute on = GND)
WHT - CDB, CD Busy (do not connect) if you press CD button the HU switch to CD mode from Radio or Tape and shows "CD". (CD on = +12V)
GRY - DISB, (do not connect)
RED - BU, backup power (permanent) (+12V)
Barna - ACC, acc/ignition power (+12V)
BLK - GND
BLK - GND
BLK - GND

Good luck!

Nice!

I just got the DSP unit (without the radio/cassette portion unfortunately) and hopefully with this info I can wire it into the regular radio/cassette HU.

At the 10 pole connector I forgot to translate the "Barna" color, it is Brown - ACC. Sorry. If you have any further questions just write it here.

Some DSP has no sound, I can help to solve that too. Usually the audio power supply is gone inside. If somebody has this problem and has good soldering skills I can help.

So if I am connecting this to a stock Honda radio/cassette do I still not connect the GRN, YEL, WHT, and GRY wires?

I know you were wiring to an aftermarket head unit, but I am wiring into my stock radio/cassette deck. Thanks in advance.

Dsp

If you have this radio (see pic), there are 2 round connectors for DSP. If you have a different radio, you do not have to connect those wires, but if your radio has the function fot it, do it. The "(do not connect)" signals are only for Honda radio (ex: GX-9300SP) radio which was built for Honda DSP (GDP-9300SP). KEH-M7061ZH - this is the name of the system: HU+DSP. A general radio does not use these signals.

I don't have the Pioneer made radio/cassette (the one that is part of the DSP system). I have the stock radio/cassette that was made by Alpine. So I'm trying to figure out how to wire the Pioneer DSP unit into the stock Alpine cassette/radio.

I have actually been talking back and forth with Pioneer via email and they are trying to get me all the schematics and wiring diagrams. We'll see how that turns out.
