dropping the front passenger side axle

Okay, tranny is on the way out. I went and got a slide hammer, but the thing won't pull out the wheel hub, do I use a pickle fork?

ya, don't worry about the hub...

unbolt the damper fork and the bar that connects near it, or to it, don't remember... and just take a long screw driver and a hammer, and just hammer it out.

it's pretty easy once u figure out what u are doing.

So your saying I should get the axle out of the tranny instead? Do I have to unbolt any suspension stuff so the axle can move that far? My other question would be what about the half-shaft coming out the other side, will it just slide out of the tranny when I unbolt it?

It was pretty easy. If it's the one I think it is I put a pry bar between the lower crossbean and the oil pan across so that the pry bar end was against the inside of the big hard piece of the axle then I just hit the end of the bar with a hammer.

Also a smaller flatheaad screwdriver should fit in between the diff and th axle piece to pry it out.
