driver side seat reclining lever problem

OK this is a resally weird problem I have. The lever for my driver seat that you pull up to push the seat up doesn't work. The only way I can get the seat up is to push the memory button down and then release the memory button and at the same time pulling the lever. This is the only way i can access the back seat with ease and its really annoying cause every time I do it i have to reset the memory on my seat. If the problem wasn't weird enough already it sometimes works normally (but thats rare). Also the problem came out of nowhere. Actually it happened at an AutoX BEFORE I raced. Any ideas on how i can fix it or what might be wrong with it?

So much for that. There's nothing in the Helms except how to replace the entire seat. I guess there's only one way to know... unless someone else has done it before.
