I dunno what the hell I'm thinking, especially given my current financial situation, but disregarding any warnings going off in my head, and acting in some self-created heat of urgency, I placed an order. For what?
sigh...
for a Spoon CF front lip.
If I wasn't broke as hell before, I definitely am now.
edit: finally got the roll of film developed, and found some old shots from my vacation last summer too, a pleasant surprise. Here are the pictures, if you haven't read the thread, do so, then tell me what you think:
first, front before:
then front after:
now, side shot before:
and side shot after
right, tell me what you think, do i need side skirts? Ahh, so much hard work judging, how about some comic relief? I surely wasn't laughing at the time, I put my bottle down for 1 minute to tie my shoe, when I stand up, I see this punk slobbering all over it trying to open it with his teeth, I decided then to let him have it, choosing that over rabies ... and yes, you can see his weenie

unpainted you mean? I am getting white wheels, so the whole "theme" of the car is white on the outside, you really think an orphan, gray part will look okay?

Yeah it's unpainted, but he's got black rims also.

Whats the point of getting a CF lip and painting it? At least with my hood you still see the CF. And I highly doubt you'll see much more than a couple of lbs of weight savings versus a normal urethane lip.

well, CF is also very strong. Mostly, I'm getting it because it's Spoon Lol, no really, of all the lips I've seen, including Azect's, I like Spoon's the most, I just figured they were, as everyone has suggested, IMPOSSIBLE to get, well, it's still very close to a true statement. So I never really bought it for the weight loss, and I find it hard to believe that any lip will be lighter than the OEM chin spoiler.
Fullyluded: yeah, I will definitely do that first, I'm not going to send it right to the body shop to get painted, I'd like to see what it'll look like, and I'll take advantage of that opportunity to get some pics for everyone here, but (and it's just me thinking), i'm figuring that it'll look best painted to match my car.
well they wanted $395 shipped but they didn't have them in stock but one with little messed up clearcoat. so i asked them if they can cut me a deal on that and he was gonna give it to me for $265 shipped but after he talked to he's manager... he only gave me $100 off... so i got it for $295 shipped which i think is still not bad... he sent me a pic of it before we made a deal and it's like one part of the lip next to the air dam about the size of my fingernail the clear coat kinda bubbled up but can't even tell in the close up pictures... i'll post pix after i install them... how much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking?
don't bother asking, I don't mind, but let's just say you saved a bundle compared to me ... a very big bundle lol. Looks good though, post some pics when you get it on.
lol, not gonna swap my clear JDMs with black ones, buy a CF hood, and order different wheels just to match my lip. While it is a part that others should revolve around (the spoon aura), I'd much rather like the white look, and the whole black hood on a white car wasn't my bowl of soup, it always looked too lego to me, but hey, my opinion only. I've already got my clear JDMS, and about to order my white wheels, and as far as hoods go, i'm poor, so i'll stick with my slightly oxidated OEM one for now.
