Dome light issue...quick question...

I have an issue with my dome light not coming on when I open my driver's side door and I know for sure that the problem is with the little switch in the door jam. It does not seem to be making proper contact most likely due to some corrosion on the inside. I can see that it is held on my 1 philips screw. The reason why I am reluctant to remove it is that when I had my car repainted the body shop told me that if I remove that switch then some parts will fall on the inside of the rocker panel.

Does this make sense?

Has anyone removed it before?

Thanks.

unscrew it, you'll be ok, apparently this is a common problem, mine does this too. Does your door ajar light on the dash come on when the door is shut?

I don't remember if the light on the dash comes on. My car is at the body shop for a couple of days so I can't check right now. If I play around with it then the dome light will come on.
