Dome light bulb DE3175

Does it matter if the light bulb is DE3175 or just 3175? What does the DE stand for and is it relevent? Heh, 3175 kind of opens up my options a lot if it'll work. Thanks.

According to this bulb site, http://www.lightlens.net/bulbchart.htm, I would definitely go with the DE3175 bulb. You may not want to take your chances. In fact, I have a dome light bulb in my center console. I bought it from Honda for like $2. I tell you what, next time I see my car (in a week) I will get the code for you.

Okay, but which code are you talking about? I know the manual says the bulb should be DE3175, but there were minimal bulbs with that title on ebay compared to 3175. Thus, I was wondering if they're, in fact, the same bulb or will work normally. Thanks.

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the 3157 bulb as opposed to the 3175? I'm just trying to look at this situation from all perspectives. Let me know. Thanks.

Yes, I'm sure. The manual says DE3175. However, there are bulbs that are 3175 (notice, there's no DE) out there as welll. In fact, there are a lot more bulbs out there for sale on ebay under 3175 than DE3175. Thus, I was just wondering if those two bulbs are interchangeable or not.
