I've owned 2 4th gens to date, and I have seen neither EVER have the 'low gas' indicator light on. To be honest, I've never in my life seen a 4th gen with teh gas light on. LoL. Am I just really unlucky and happened to get the 2 that had bad sensors, or is this a more common problem than I know of?
Also, for those who's lights DO come on, at what point are they supposed to come on? 1 bar?, when the last bar goes out..?
Haha, out of everything I know about preludes, it's something as stupid as this that makes me look ignorant
The light is really touchy and it can dim in or out. Sometimes during the day you probably can't even see it but it is barely on. At night you can actually tell it come in and out slowly.
I know for a fact mine has never come on... dim or bright. LoL, once I even ran out of gas to try and make the bastard come on.... nope. Guess it's not just me though, so that's good........ I guess.
Mine comes on at 2 bars. At 2 bars it'll come on and then fade off. Kind of a little reminder. When it gets down lower to around 1 bar, it stays on all the time.

I have a 92. Mine comes on and off with 3 bars and usually stays on with 2 or less. I don't fear the light either. I think I have gone 15-20 miles with no bars of gas and I always run it down to one or zero.
Kinda OT: I still don't see how our tanks have a capacity of 15.9 gal. I usually run my lude down to no bars (with light on), fill up, and I only put in about 13 gallons 'o gas. With at least 2 gallons of gas left, I should be able to get another 40-50 miles before its completely dry, right? But I get less than 20 miles before I'm out.
mine comes on and goes off at random times when i have 2 bars left, then comes on and goes off more, the more i drive. sometimes it does not come on until i have absolutely no bars left
oh yeah also in my 92 when the gas light came on it would shut my amps off...so i usually never let it get that low....that was kinda weird. Dont have that problem with the 93 though
