Hey guys this is my first post since I don't own a prelude yet but I found this one and was wondering what you guys thought. Thanks for the input.
HONDA PRELUDE '93 V-tech, over 100K miles, new timing, brakes, radiator, gaskets and much more. All records kept. Clean. 4 stock alloys $6000/Best offer.
Replacing the radiator isn't really "regular maintenance", but it's pretty common for the radiator to leak. I wouldn't be concerned with gaskets unless it's the head gasket. Goto Pepboys and buy a compression tester. That should tell you what condition the engine is in. 6k is an OK deal. Maybe this is just me, but I wouldn't want to buy a car from a guy who can spell the type of car they own...
In my opinion when someone doesnt know **** about the engine i take it as a good sign because that means they never tinkered with it, when i bought my car my motor was dirty as hell, like no one had ever touched it in 10 years i was happy about that because that way i knew that the old lady wasnt taking my car down to the strip when she owned it

I got my car with 103k, and at the time of purchase the radiator needed to be changed regardless of the great running condition of the rest of the car. Radiators often need replacing 90k.
As for the car, it seems like a good deal. Remember to get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection), preferably two independent ones; and also run the CarFax to make sure everything is cool. Make sure you run the blue book on atleast two different sites. Typically you average the low (trade-in) and high (retail) blue books for the value of Private Party. Do this on two different sites and use the cheaper one for negotiating. Dont forget a compression test.
