If so do you have any idea which 16 will clear the relocated caliper?? I plan on doing a lot more Solo 1 and 2 next season and I don't want to be running 17 R's.
well i might have been wrong. you should find someone you know with 16s and check and see if they remotely fit. if im wrong let me know cause that is something worth knowing for future refrence.
I have the kit and I can't wait till the're installed. I had 16" too an bought new 17" in case of. But the old one's worth nothing, so I plan to keep them. If the'll fit, I'm planning to use them in the winter with winter tires.
As for the question, the kit (without the 4 piston caliper) will fit in 16". Only if you have the kit with the four piston caliper upgrade, you'll need at least 17". If you can wait, I'm planning to install them on the 21th of november. After that, I can tell you if 16" will fit or not. I hope they do!

Well my 17's barly clear the stock caliper, that's why I was wondering what 16's would. Deffinitly let us know what you find out once you get you kit on. I am thinking about taking off those brakes and getting some 16's once my engine is rebuilt. No point in spending all of this $$$ and have performance lowered by some big wheels.

No the engine is still in pieces and will remain that way for the winter. I am slowly gathering my parts and taking a lot of time to do research. I am making sure it is done right the frist time.

true, so i assume your putting like high performence stuff in right?

Yeah that's the plan as of now. Ran into a speedbump here at home tho and I am pissed. I am looking to move out so I hope I still have the funds available to do what I plan on.
Just a mention: All of this stuff at home would not be happening if I didn't have this car.
The rotor's are build into my car and I have some good news and some bad news. The good thing is that they brake very very good. Well worth the money. The sad thing is, I can't use my 16 rims anymore. I think the main reason is because I have the vtec model. As you may know, the 2.2 vtec and 2.3 models came with bigger rotors. So after a Big Brake conversion, there isn't enough space left. I think it will work on other models, but I can't tell. Maybe someone else know's.
why does the aem big brake kit only work on the front wheels?
those of you who have them what did you do for the rear wheels?
i've been looking at them for a while but the price has always seemed kind of extravagant....
are they worth it?
thanks
ur best bet is to see if a local volk racing dealer will let u try 16" volk racing te-37s
the design of this wheel allows large brakes to be put on and an example of this is one of SCC project cars...they had an RX-7 with a Cooltech brake upgrade...it had massive 14" rotors and a 4 pot caliper and they used 18" te-37s
hope this gives u an idea, mind u i am not 100% sure it will fit

If you brake hard, the car will put all the mass on the front wheels. In extreme situations, 95 % off all braking power must come from the front brakes. Furthermore, you don't want your rear to lock up. In bad cases, the rear of you're car will pass you're front resluting in uncontrollable driving. My rear rotors are still stock. I'm planning to replace them, but I doubt it will get better. Replacing the rear rotors will be for the looks. Although the AEM's are real expensive, I think the car is well worth it. If you really want to take all out off you're car, spend some money on these little things. It's not a forward only car. Speed isn't all that counts.

.I had the same problem i Just called up AEM, I also e-mailed JDMHondaParts.com.... they (both) would give you an answer.
I might know off hand, what 16's are you planning on getting?
i think it would be a good idea to keep the rears stock so you could use the spare tire just in case. my freind with his civic got a flat on his left front tire and he just swapped a rear rim to the front and put the spare on the rear takes longer than normal but lets you keep the spare and have it function..... btw: im probably getting the aem kit real soon. will the kit work if you have Legend/nsx calipers?
