Do-it-yourself Custom Seats?

As the title says, was wondering if this was possible. I know I can pay someone to have them vinyl it up, but is it possible for us to do it ourselves? Has anyone done it themselves or knows how to do it? I just want to revinyl them to a diffrent color cuz mine are fading pretty badly.

Shops use templates to draw and cut out the vinyl...some skills with a sewing machine are also required.

i worked at my cousins uphulestry shop for the past 6 months and unless you want a custum design pattern in your seats you can just copy the cloth patterns but not only are good sewing machine skills needed but you also need a heavy duty sewing machine.....not just a regular machine.......i just stopped working there a month ago and never got around to sewing up my own so i'm cheating and getting katskin seats....we've used them a few times for people who dont want to pay to have them custom stiched up and they're basically exactly just like having a shop stitch them up and fit most of the time really good....once in a while you get some that take alot of work to look right but most look good.....they're not just seat covers or anything that go over the seat....they replace the old cloth or whatever you had.........its just pre-stitched up vinyl.......
