Do your Tach needle ever gets stuck?

I've noticed that when it's like 100 deg out, the Tach needle would be very unresponsive to engine rpm. It would get stuck at some rpm and then a few seconds later either drop or go up depending on the engine rpm. I have a '94 VTEC.

I think this would have to be a wiring problem. It's hot where I live and my tach has always worked prefectly fine.

My tack needle seems to be a little sticky ALL THE TIME. I took my tack panel apart trying to check it out and see if I could oil it somehow. Sure enough, when I moved the needle with my hand, I could feel a slight resistance, like there was dirt in there. It was impossible to oil it, so I took the air compressor and blew it good. It didn't seem to do anything, but it was cool seeing how it all works.
