do we need that rear window trim? i removed mine

Well, i opened my trunk, and the trunk lid hooked the window trim piece and ripped it up when i opened the trunk. I couldnt bend it back, so i had to rip the whole thing off....It was rusted anyway, but i want to know if its cool to leave it off, or do i have to buy a replacement? I heard they were like $80.00 from Honda. Will my trunk leak it I keep it off????

You need something there. If not, rain can just get through the holes that are left by where the clips are normally screwed in, and that leads directly into your trunk.

Plus it would just be a big nasty gap on your car!

i left mine on there, but it was all cracking so i peeled it back and cut it off with a knife

a few coats of flat black paint and it looks 100000 times better!

I had painted mine as well but opted to replace the trim all together. The trim has to sit flush with the glass or water will seep through the channel and seep through the clips that hold the trim in. I guess the clips would hold the water out from leaking into your trunk for sometime. But the clips insulator on my old trim just rotted and caused leaks.

I like the look that Ryan (cd55) has... brushed aluminum.

The glass is held by adhesive I would'nt put too much wieght on the trim holding the glass down. Yeah, I hadn't washed my car - so thats that ashy your referring to.
