Distributor and idle problem now...

Ok ive been having that idle problem and i replaced the IAC valve and it did not help any. my distributor is now making a horrible squealing noise and i was thinking that this thing could also be causing my idle problem and maybe the hesitation. i am using the jdm one that came with the h22 and i guess my mechanic rewired the jdm one to work. i believe i still have the h23 distributor but i dunno how i can go about using this one because i think he already redid the wiring to make the jdm one work... make sense? does this sound like it could be causing my idle problem? if not i still need to fix whatever is wrong with the distributor. Pleae help me

I would switch back to your H23 distributor. It sound like your JDM H22 distributor is about to blow apart. I remember when my H23 distributor blew, it wasn't fun... just driving normal and I hear a squealing noise... I drive and and about 2 minutes later I hear a "boom" then my car shuts off and my steering locks while I am going about 40mph.

Good Luck...

Well listen to this... i just read red92s write up on how to wire up the jdm distributor and it looks like that extra wire that it suppose to be wired up isnt. there is still an empty socket to were it should be. whatcha think about that?

I think you should wire that up... but if it is squealing, then most likely the bearing is dead inside the distributor. So you still might want to switch back to H23 distributor.

well i talked to Todd from NTPOG and he said that if i did i would have to change out the fuel pump or something because of the dist. anyways he said he has a jdm dist. so i will just get that one from him and hopefully this will fix my problem.
