Dissappearing coolant - h22a1

I was driving today and started to overheat. Got it back home and I had no coolant. Easy fix, what confuses me is that the coolant lasted 4 months. I replace the water pump, thermostat, and timing belt in mid april and the coolant is all gone already. It has lasted over 2 years before. I talked to my friend who is a mechanic because my motor builds pressure and it steams out my coolant reservoir cap. He said if it's running let it be unless I want to rebuild the motor. I've got 183000 on it and it's still runnin strong. Not ready for a rebuild yet plus no $. My motor is a h22a1 and can't figure what the problem is yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You either have a small leak or your headgasket is failing. Do a leakdown test to rule out the headgasket. Neither warrants a rebuild if the motor is in otherwise good condition.

leakdown test was done in april and all was good. It was doing the same thing though, but I guess better to be safe then sorry. I think it is evaporating from it steaming out. I can't find any leaks, no puddles on ground or leaking into the cabin from heater core.

A pinhole leak will cause the coolant to go slowly and will evaporate as soon as it's out.

do a pressure test on the cooling system.

Those don't always find pin-hole leaks.

It's been awhile but wanted to give out the reason why this happened. One of the fins rusted off the water pump and it got stuck in the block. Unfortunately, all I could do was to sit and wait because I couldn't do the rebuild. So, yes I waited all that time and about 6 months ago, stopped having the problem, yes 2 years for it rust through and become small enough to pass through the block.
