Dim fuel / temp gauges... help

The other day when I turned on my car my fuel and temp gauges were really really dim. Slowly they got brighter and like 10 minutes later they were normal. This was during the day. I turned on my lights on and turned the dimmer switch till it clicked and they were dim anyways. Without the dimmer switch up so high they were practically invisible.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

My 4G's EL gauges are a bit dimmer than usual if it's been very cold outside. Like you, after 10 minutes they're back to normal.

yea, but for it to be cold enough, everyone in Miami would be dead... so, with that in mind, there is something wrong with the transformer for the vacuum luminences, I would think.

how many miles?

do you have the factory service manual? I would check their trouble shooting steps.

ok...you want to know why everything is really dim then gets brighter? because when you start your car and its cold the stuff inside the tubes (that makes the el gauges, el gauges) is frozen and cold...as your car warms up the stuff inside the tubes warms up...there for your lights become brighter. I dont know how to expain it b/c i dont know the actual way that they el gauge tubes work...but I hope you get the general idea.

hmm

its weird though, my car was in the garage all day and it wasn't even close to cold. They've been acting normal ever since, but I think the tubes might be on the way out

Wouldn't hurt to check your battery. Just take it in and have 'em check it. I solved my prob with my car slowly dieing and if left for a few days being dead as a corpse. My DieHard went Kaput, so I went Shashoot and went to SEARS and they replaced it no prob. Only had the battery for 5months. Killed it so fast because I was using it a lot when I was repairing the car.

IT's MIAMI! Its probably like 80 down there right now. Check a few things, then take it to honda. look in the helms or something. You kinda gotta have your gauges...
