diffrence between h22a5 and h22a2

Hey
I got a 94 prelude with h22 engine, but need to chance the block, but can i use the h22a5 block, or are there diffrences that makes it difficult? i know the a2 is a closed deck, and the a5 is open, but besides off that? are they the same?
regards jonas

All H22 blocks are pretty much the same, minus open-deck vs closed-deck. The only other big difference is ATTS or no ATTS. Do you have a base model? Is the A5 coming from a VTi or a VTi-S? This is important stuff.

If it was from a VTI-S shouldnt the engine code, h22a5 be diffrent?
Tho I think its from a regular VTI, im Engberg's IRL friend btw..

But what would be so diffrent from vti and vti-s?

VTi = no ATTS
VTi-S = has ATTS

So the blocks are different, yet both still H22A5s.

Active Torque Transfer System. It's sorta like an electrical LSD. You can google it or just read the ATTS info guide already stickied in the 5G section.

ATTS models and their non-ATTS counterparts have the same gearing. For example, The VTi and the VTi-S have the same gearing. The USDM Base and USDM Type SH have the same gearing. The JDM SiR S-spec and the JDM Type-S have the same gearing.

As for telling the difference just by looking at the block, read this:

5th Gens - Base vs. SH - Honda-Tech
