Difficulty of changing t. belt

I know what the mods are thinking check the Faq's but it
only gives links to helms manual.

I want to know the actual difficult area's of the work. I am a fairly technical car person and mechanically inclined but I have heard horror stories on how the H23a is a Hard engine to chage a Timing belt on becuase of the small margine for error!

Is this true??
I read the manual instructions and I think that the balancer belt assembely looks to be a pain and being able to insure that the belt is lined up strait could also be tricky???? I just need to know
if there is any special attention that I should pay a careful hour
to???
Just really need to know what to watch out for... and it says to
refer to pg.60 for instructions on how to align the timing belt
does anyone have that page scanned?

And finally are there any special tools required..I have a pullie puller and the dowles for aligning the cams too I think...
sorry for the long post

The hardest part is the crankshaft pulley removal. You will need a special honda tool, 3/4 air wrench, or some kind of jury-rigged tool.

Nope. I used a breaker bar, metal pipe, socket, metal chain, c clamp and vise grips and it takes about 2 min to take off. I did my timing belt this summer and none of it is too hard it is just time consuming. You have to move all the assesories out of the way then the lower plastic cover is a pain because the location of one bolt. I did water pump too so then you have to drain the coolent from the car. For a h23 the reassembly of the tensioner and the belts was suprisingly easy. It wasn't too bad setting up the balancer shaft belt. The bolt in the block has to be removed to stick a pin in one but the other one only takes a second to line up. Good luck. If you are good with car and tools you should be able to do this.
