Different Tires on diff. axels

move to tires forum if you want.
and i searched with limited luck.

Well I bought my car with Michelin XGT V4 tires, neither I nor the previous owner are impressed with them at all.

my 2 front tires are pretty much worn down to nothing, they were definately over-inflated
however my rear tires have a lot of tread left

i want to buy 2 new tires (looking at yoko avs es100 or S03's) for my front, but i hear its not good to have different treads

would you reccomend that i
A)change the front michelins to the rear and wait to buy a full set of 4 new tires down the road
B)leave the XGT V4's on the rear and buy 2 new fronts
C)buy new Michelins for the front and SHUT-UP! (they are 147 a piece!)

if its just a daily driver, i wouldn't be overly worried about buying a different type of tire to put up front. That's the same thing i did when i got my car a year ago. It had firestones all the way around... i saved 2 of 'em and replaced the other 2 with kuhmos.

I didn't have money at the time for 4 tires or i prolly woulda just done that. As it stands i'm buying 4 kuhmos this week to put on.

kuhmo ecsta supra 712 is a great tire for the money in my experience (about $60 ea.) They provide good traction and have decent treadwear. Obviously there are plenty of better tires out there, but from the research i've done there's no better tire in that price range, or the next coupla price ranges up.
