finally got around to changing my timing belt, manual conversion, cam gears. I bought a new balancer belt, but left it off. I am so proud of myself! The balancer belt off is. I love the low end that it gives you. But all i need to do now is tune the vafc2 and cam gears. Hopfully I will see some good gains!
Did you change your water pump? That might be next to go. Usually the timing belt breaks if the water pump goes out, or if the timing belt is changed the water pump will go out. Just something I learned after over 2 grand was spent on repairing my baby after a Timing belt breaking. It detroyed everything. But ow runs harder than ever

Ditto that!.....
I did TB, HG, WP, and tensioner in 1 shot!....Good excuse to do some headwork and install the CGs also!...
Timing belt, balancer belt, tensioners for both, water pump. Installing a spoon head gasket, type S cams, Skunk2 Cam Gears. All I need now is VAFC2 and off to dyno tune...
leaving the balancer belt off gives u more power? i didnt know that. how does that work? Im doing my h22 swap soon and would like to know any power tricks
yeah I was considering leaving my balancer belt off but the power gain is not big enough to make me leave the car vibrate. if I was a regular on the track than yeah. as far as my Type S cams is concerned I did get them for a very reasonable price and it's not costing me extra to install since I'm doing all at once so why not ... cheap power gains
Spoon Gasket was $100 and I think it was the last one on the market . It's supposed to raise your CR by like .2 and as far as power gains that really depends on what else u're running on your car... Once I get the VAFC2 I'll go dyno tune and I can let everyone know what the power gains were...

it's one less belt to pull by the engine. Kinda like when you turn the A/C on, your engine has to run the compressor via a belt, basically power is diverted to run the A/C. In a similar fashion, running that balancer shaft takes a little (and i'm pretty sure it's a little) power from the engine, but the + is that your engine doesn't vibrate. My opininion is they put it there for a reason, I'd just as soon leave it that way, who knows what the long term effects are for the increased vibration. Btw though, nice on the cams, maybe one day when I have an H22 I'll purchase a set, if they're still available then. And Honda is always right, besides, it's been common knowledge and plain common sense for the longest time: change your water pump when you change your timing belt.
what cam gears did u install? and did u cut your valve cover to be able to adjust the cam gears? and lastly when you first drove off after you were finished with the install did u hear any new sounds and/or whistles from the engine bay??? I'm hearing some stuff so want to see if it's common while the belt and the cam gears are still new and get acquainted...
