Did I lose power?

When I was working on my car yesterday, I had the fender off and then it rained over night. so I took out the Intake box at the bottom just to make sure there is no water in there, which then I found out there is a hole at the bottom where water drains out.

When I first took it out it was kinda loose, and it came out right away. but then when I put it back on, I made sure it was on tight and right. now my car doesnt seem to sound as loud as it did before when I punch it. it even feels slower, its probably unnoticeable, but I actually feel its slower. Another thing is, when I turn off the car, it doesnt have the thumping noise from the intake anymore like it used to. this is a stock exhaust of course.

If I make it loose again, will I regain some power and will I get that thumping sound back. I really liked that sound, it sounded like I had an aftermarket intake.

Do you mean intake box (in the engine compartment) or the resonator (behind bumper, below engine compartment, fore of wheel well)? If the latter, that hole is there for water and probably to serve some noise dampening purpose. I doubt anything changed, it might just be your imagination because you were thinking so much about it before and after tightening it on. As long as the resonator was securely fastened to the intake air box/intake plenum before and after, there should be no difference.
